Mr Qutayba Almerie
Mr Qutayba Almerie is a highly skilled Consultant Bariatric, Upper Gastrointestinal & General Surgeon based in Manchester Royal Infirmary (Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust).
Qutayba is also the Programme Director of the Royal College of Surgeons accredited Phoenix Health Advanced Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery Fellowship.
He specialises in bariatric (weight loss) surgery and weight loss management, acid reflux and hiatal hernia surgery, gallbladder surgery and abdominal wall hernia surgery.
After graduating from medical school in the top of his class, Qutayba received extensive postgraduate training in general, laparoscopic (keyhole), and upper gastrointestinal surgery in the Yorkshire region leading to the completion of his speciality training in Upper Gastrointestinal & General Surgery (CCT).
Qutayba then pursued further specialisation in bariatric (weight loss) surgery. He undertook the prestigious Phoenix Health Advanced Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery. During this 2-year fellowship, he was trained on all aspects of bariatric surgery under the mentorship of the internationally renowned Professor David Kerrigan; the former president of the British Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS).
